Why hosting matters

As everyone already knows I have the best host family ever! There is no reason to debate with me!
When I was thinking about going to America I thought I will have a lot of friends, cool school, and good opportunities. Well, it is this way, but it's a little bit deeper. The most important thing I understood at the half of my exchange year, I woke up one morning and I thought ; "Oh well, it's half way through.... It will not be that easy as I thought it will be!". I was thinking about people around me, when I was living and going to America I knew I would come back and see my friends and family again. With America is totally different, you don't know if you will see them again... And now I will tell you why!

People who always helped me and stayed on my side was my host family! My host father is Jeff, he is the most incredible writer I ever read and a really really good cooker! My host mom - AnnMarie, she is an awesome artist and mother, she cares about everyone and always want you to be happy! My siblings, Wes is into sports and politics, sometimes I think how 13-year-old boy knows so so sooooo much! My sister - Ana, she is a good cooker and amazing artist, her works  are incredible with colorful and deep meaning, she is also a vegetarian and love pets. My grandma is Laura, she is so wonderful! She is just amazing, she is very good in everything! And grandpa Jim, his stories and big heart makes you feel loved and homie! And of course our dog, Livvie! She loves kisses and stilling your  food, so be careful!
These people not just host me for one year! They opened their heart, their home, their family for a stranger! They treat me as their child and gave me everything I needed and even more! They taught me English, slang, and just everyday things. And they still are teaching me!
I miss them a lot, I can not tell them this thing because it will not change the thing that I'm back home. But I have them in my heart. I always think about them, about what they eat, about what they watch on TV, about how their sports are going.
These people forever have reserved seats in my heart and in my life! I can't wait to see them again!
And now the most important thing, Why you should host an exchange student?
Well, because we are cool!!! Hahah I'm joking, but it's true :) It's not only about  seeing the other culture, it's about teaching each other, it's about friendship and love, it's about funsies. It's relationships for the whole life! It matters! Be a part of it, a part of something new, of something pleasant and fun. Yes, you might have some problems, but who doesn't?! It's worth a try!

From an OLD shirt to a Brand New! DIY!

Hi everyone, I think we all have this old shirt which doesn't look very well, but we can't through it away.

This is my shirt! And as you can see it's not in a good shape ~_~
             What can we do?

1. Cut parts that are shown with red color.

2. And cut the bottom of your shirt as it is shown.

3. It should look like this!

4. This step is for making your ends to look a little bit cuter. Take one section and stretch it down, as it is shown down on the photo.

5, At the end it should look like this.

6. The same way  stretch neck and "sleeves".

6. Get some accessories, and you are ready to go out with a brand new shirt!

If you liked this DIY, find an old shirt and make your own! Don't forget to share it in the comments!

How to go throuth hard time in our lives.

     Hi everybody,

I've noticed that most of people are so scared to try something new, to let other people to know them, to open their hearts. And I've decided that I'm going to write a post about how to get motivated in telling people about you, in being more outgoing!

So, let's start. I think from my childhood I never had a problem to be open mind in front of others. But time went by and I've changed from the age of 14 till 16... New school, teenage problems and you think that everyone is hating you.

How to get through it, you will ask?

The most important thing is that you should be all the time positive! "But it's so hard to be positive, Xenia!" I DON'T think so! For example, you have a really bad day, make a list of things which make you happy. I promise it will help you! Or eat chocolate :)

And now you know how to be positive, and we can begin the other part of motivation. Try to make new friends. getting to know new people it's so exciting that you might be surprised after. You should talk with people that are very busy with their lives, the people who can teach you something, people which you will look up to!

And the other thing is that, REMEMBER everything which happened to you have a reason. Think about it, How did this situation changed your attitude in some point, how did it make you stronger a little bit.

So, that's all for today, be happy, be stronger, be more outgoing!

About me

Hi everybody,

Today I will tell you a little bit of myself.

My name is Xenia Balabuh. I live in a beautiful, green and kind of small but amazing country Republic of Moldova.

From the age of two I've been singing on the stage in front of people, and I think it did made a big difference about who I'm in life and what I like. I had graduated art school and dance school. I love playing on the stage and I love seeing people's reactions. I also know how to play guitar, ukulele and African drum, I don't think my neighbours love that, but it's ok, a little bit something new in their lives.

For now, the most productive year in my life was 2015-2016. I've been an exchange student, I lived in OHIO, I also had a host family, two awesome schools, a lot of friends and unforgettable experience. It literally was a life on one year. It wasn't easy to live somewhere without anything you know, without people you know, without family... But it was an amazing experience that I would never forget about.
So for now, you know a little bit of myself and I consider that you can trust me

Can't wait to hear from you!

Struggles of choosing a good university.

People are all the time struggling in making decisions. From the first days of our life we make these decisions. Sometimes we are so afraid of it, that we can hurt ourself with just not doing anything.

For most teenagers the biggest struggle is that we don't know where we want to study.
I consider myself an artist, living in a small country, which is not so much in art, makes diffecult for me in making this decision. When our family friends would come to our house they would ask me: "Xenia, where are you going to study? What you want to be?". And I would answer: "Well, I will study arts and make my studio". They would laugh in front of me saying that :"All artist are poor, you wanna be poor?"

The best way is to not try to make someone feel comfortable with what you are doing! It's not their job to tell you what you can do and what you are not supposed to do in your life. They already made their decitions and now is your time!

Here is how I deal with that.
1. You should know what you like!
2. And you should go with that.
If you like a lot writing and you think that this is the best way you can express yourself you should write. You can be anyone! And everything!
Society makes us to be afraid of ourself, makes us to follow the way which is known. Just because someone else didn't had a chance to try something else doesn't mean that you are not supposed to make your own way! You always have a choice, and your right way!

So, for now, I found a good Fine ARTs University and I'm planning to study there.
I love dancing and singing and drawing, playing different instruments. I know I will never be a good doctor because I'm afraid of the blood, or I never will be a math teacher if I don't like to count numbers.
We make our own life! My dad always said to me, : "Xenia, if you like something you should do it!". Yes, you should work a lot and make a big progress for becoming a good specialist in it! But if you have a dream, I'm 100% sure that you should try to make it true.

Here is some of my works. And good luck in making decisions!
